Hunt is on for best South Tyneside business
South Tyneside companies are being encouraged to enter this year’s South Tyneside Business Awards for their chance to drive reputation and instigate growth.
Last year’s winners Tyne Tees Security (TTS) have experienced rapid expansion since claiming the prize and has now launched worldwide.
Ambitious managing director, Gary Goyal founded the firm in 2010 with 150 staff and now employs 250, working across door supervision, mobile patrols and alarm response.
Gary believes there is a link between TTS’s success at last year’s awards and the growth success.
He said: “The awards acted as a catalyst towards the growth and successes of my operations.
“It can provide a platform to businesses like TTS to prove their strength on a mega stage. In a highly networked national and international community, such recognition of efforts can broadcast the potential of a business worldwide.
“Leading businesses in South Tyneside need to set an example towards the business community nationally to boost investments in the borough.
“The success of companies in South Tyneside, and being nominated for the business awards in their respective fields, is a direct boost to the borough’s economy and in the confidence of the community towards future generations.
“TTS is on its way to becoming a formidable example of a business that has benefited massively from the awards and has been able to spread its benefits to the local, regional and national communities.”
Councillor Michael Clare, Lead Member Regeneration and Economy of South Tyneside Council, said TTS’s success showed the high value of the awards.
He added: “It is a shining example of a tremendous new business that has made significant progress after entering the awards and winning.
“It is great to see a young business in South Tyneside gaining such success. We have had a good level of entries for the Newcomer category this year and we anticipate a high quality award.”
Richard Ord, owner of Colmans, which is sponsoring the Newcomer category, said: “I’m delighted that Gary and TTS have enjoyed such a productive and exciting year.
“It clearly proves that there are some quite excellent young businesses in South Tyneside deserving of great success.”
Other Business Awards categories are Manufacturer of the Year, Apprentice of the Year, Service Company of the Year, Environmental Business of the Year, Most Innovative Business, Special Award, and the overall Business of the Year.
Organised by South Tyneside Council and supported by the South Tyneside Business Forum, they take place at Gypsies Green, South Shields Foreshore, from 6.30pm on Thursday, September 12.
Entries are now open until August 16, and more information about the awards, including how to enter and download entry forms is available at www.stbusinessawards.co.uk.
