Michael is going Farr
Michael Farr is the new Executive Director of Development and Property with Isos Housing.
He takes on the responsibility for a £20 million budget to build, repair, maintain and modernise around 12,000 rented and leasehold homes across the North East .
Having been with Isos for a decade, after working in regeneration with South Tyneside Council, Michael was offered the chance to head up the department in which he had been Assistant Director for the past two years.
He said: “I think the biggest challenges are the reducing levels of grant we are getting to build and maintain our properties and the issues surrounding welfare reform which are impacting upon many of our residents.
“On the plus side, the good reputation that Isos has earned and the fact that we are financially strong means that organisations are keen to work with us to improve the housing provision in the region.”
Married with three children, Michael, 47, attempts to keep fit in his spare time by training for his 15th Great North Run and hopes to raise donations in aid of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
