NoChintz branding division expands its team and client base

The branding division of Manchester-based design studio NoChintz is celebrating this week having expanded both its client base and its team.

Luxury eco-lodge and self-catering experts Natural Retreats has appointed the NoChintz branding team to develop graphics and wayfinding signage for The Inn at John O’Groats.

Formerly the iconic John O’Groats Hotel, the building is part of Natural Retreats’ multi-million pound regeneration of this stunningly picturesque natural wilderness in Caithness in the North of Scotland which also features a collection of 23 Residences, plus a brand new Outfitters activity and retail centre and co-operative Storehouse.

Speaking of the work the team is undertaking there, NoChintz branding director Jo Briggs said: “We are delighted to have been involved in this project. John O’Groats is a breathtaking place which Natural Retreats has transformed through this resort and I am thrilled that our team has played a part in it. The Inn is a beautiful building with almost 140 years of heritage so it was inspirational for our team.”

Natural Retreats is a longstanding client of the NoChintz interior design team and appointed the branding division alongside them last month. It is the latest in a line of projects the two sides of the business is collaborating on and they will soon complete their joint efforts at the new 10,000 sq ft QDos gym in Cheadle where NoChintz has provided both interior design and branding support.

“It’s almost a year since I moved to the business and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved during that time and the calibre of clients we continue to work with. We seem to particularly thrive when we work alongside the interior design team. It has become something of a USP for us to be able to go to clients like Natural Retreats and help them complete another stage of their development process through using good design to create signage, wayfinding and other aspects of their branding which tie in seamlessly with the work our sister team has done on the interiors side.”

The branding division has also expanded its team to accommodate the new work and appointed David Armstrong as senior graphic designer. David moves to the Northern Quarter based business from B2B agency Marketecture, where he worked on clients in the property, sports and professional sectors.

His appointment comes just a month after NoChintz announced three other members of staff was to join its broader team, it takes the total head count at the studios to 15. Added Jo: “It’s a pleasure to welcome David to our ever growing team. His approach and commitment to good design shows how well he’s going to fit with our team and our client base.”

NoChintz was established in 2007 and has since grown into a flourishing interiors and branding studio. It recently announced an increase in turnover to £1.55m for the past year.
