Teesside Society of Chartered Accountants appoint new chair

Teesside Society of Chartered Accountants has appointed Tindle’s Chartered Accountants partner Angela Foster as its new chair to lead all 737 members for the next year in office.

Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor Angela, who has worked in general practice for more than 12 years in Teesside, has been appointed to the as the predecessor Chair of Emma Johnson.

Having worked and trained at Tindle’s Chartered Accountants since 2001 Angela subsequently became a partner in 2007 and now oversees all accounts, audit, company secretarial, payroll and compliance work.

As the start-up firm’s first recruit she witnessed and played a crucial role in its growth to the current day, which now employs 14 people. Angela has also been a director at Finch Capital since 2011 and a governor at Redcar and Cleveland College since 2009.

“With 737 members and a sterling reputation for its support for professionals I am honoured to take up office as the new Chair of the Teesside Society of Chartered Accountants,” said Angela.

“I would like to take this opportunity, on behalf of all members, to thank the departing chair Emma Johnson for her hard work and dedication to the society. I will continue in her footsteps with the committee to drive the society forward to evolve and grow by developing further networking events, support and training for members.

“For our society to evolve it is essential we recruit ‘new blood’ to take up positions on the committee. Within the next year our committee will unfortunately lose some of its long standing members, who will be stepping down, so it is crucial we call upon talented professionals to step into their shoes and take the society in a fresh direction.

The highlight of the society year will unquestionably be the annual dinner in November, which will be hosted by 11 time Paralympic gold medallist Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson. With more than 200 people anticipated to attend the evening will be a celebration of the accountancy profession and society.
