Kaspersky Security 8.0 for SharePoint Server gets Microsoft SharePoint 2013 support

Kaspersky Lab today announces the release of the updated Kaspersky Security 8.0 for SharePoint Server, which now supports Microsoft SharePoint 2013 and includes enhanced features, such as improved protection against cyber-threats.

Corporate products which allow employees to work together on shared documents have greatly streamlined the everyday decision-making processes of many employees all over the world. However, documents uploaded to a shared software environment may become a source of infection which could overrun an entire corporate network with malicious programs. Therefore, these files require protection - and Kaspersky Lab has the answer. Kaspersky Security 8.0 for SharePoint Server is a high-end solution specially designed to protect the corporate collaboration infrastructure.

As part of this update, the solution incorporates support for Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013 and includes Kaspersky Lab’s anti-phishing technologies. From now on, whenever a link to an external source is detected in any collaboration document, the Kaspersky Lab solution will check it for legitimacy and block it if it proves to be a phishing link.

Kaspersky Security 8.0 for SharePoint Server is now also capable of protecting new types of repositories – Wikis and Blogs – that are available in the Microsoft product. The Kaspersky Lab product can secure SharePoint servers that are used as the basis of a public site. In addition, the product now supports Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and has an upgraded dashboard graphic interface.

“The new version of Kaspersky Lab’s product is the next logical step towards increasing the security of shared work via Microsoft SharePoint, given the varied scenarios in which this solution can be implemented. Enhancements such as support for Microsoft SharePoint 2013, Wiki and Blog functionalities, and the implementation of additional security technologies all serve this purpose,” said Dmitry Aleshin, Director Product Management at Kaspersky Lab.
