Stockport luxury development gets green light

A scheme to transform the site of the former pub and surrounding land into luxury flats and a local convenience store has been given the go-ahead by planning authorities.

Merepark Project Management LLP is carrying out the redevelopment in Stockport which will comprise the demolition of the former Four Heatons pub and the construction of eight quality two-bedroom flats and a 4,000 sq ft neighbourhood store.

The mixed-use scheme on Didsbury Road called ‘The Beeches’ has been well received by local residents and will provide the predominantly residential area with a much-needed community shop. The development will also include car parking and associated external works and landscaping.

Paul Woodcock from Merepark said: “We’re delighted to be making strides on this exciting scheme which will revitalise this neglected piece of land and bring it up to a level more fitting for the neighbouring area. Once complete, The Beeches will be a high-spec, luxury development; perfect for a wide variety of purchasers, while the local convenience store will be a handy addition for people living in the vicinity.

“Merepark has a great depth of experience on schemes of this nature and we’re looking forward to delivering a successful, quality project which will have a positive impact on both new and existing residents.”

Merepark Project Management LLP and its joint venture partner, Stockport Regeneration Ltd, have completed on the land and construction on the site is due to start imminently once a contractor has been appointed.
