Elevation on the rise after a surge in Yorkshire vacancies

A leading South and West Yorkshire recruitment agency has built on its recent move into Leeds with a number of significant appointments after seeing a dramatic rise in vacancies in companies across the region.

Elevation Recruitment says that the new roles are indicative of a ‘more buoyant business community’ across all sectors it operates in over the past six months, with many companies looking to expand their workforce.

Among new roles at the firm’s Leeds office, on Whitehall Road, are accountancy and finance and sales & marketing senior consultants, a human resources consultant and a recruitment secretary.

Meanwhile, five new posts have been created at Elevation’s Rotherham headquarters; FMCG and sales & marketing senior consultants, two consultants and a recruitment secretary.

The agency’s joint managing director, Greg Parkinson, believes that Elevation’s latest expansion is further evidence of the region’s above average employment growth and strong contribution to the UK’s highest reported vacancy count in five years.

The most recent statistics from the Office of National Statistics revealed that there were 529,000 vacancies in the UK between April and June this year – the highest quarterly figure reported since September to November 2008.

Greg said: “The latest statistics show that Yorkshire is performing extremely well when it comes to employment growth and we have seen first-hand a significant increase in roles across all of the sectors we work in.

“This growth in demand has seen us recently expand our HR, sales and marketing and senior finance divisions and we have also seen a significant increase in roles in the engineering and office support sectors.

“Recent growth is not restricted to a particular sector and is great news for Yorkshire, which we expect to continue outperforming the national averages. It suggests that businesses across the board are starting to feel more confident about their futures, with employees increasingly confident about looking for that next step up the career ladder.”
