Express delivery for Lancs as FedEx moves into industrial space
FedEx, the global parcel delivery, courier and transportation company, has taken a lease at Common Bank industrial estate in Chorley.
The firm, which delivers to more than 220 countries and territories, has signed for the 38,510 sq ft units at the estate on a ten year deal.
Whittle Jones chartered surveyors, acting as agents on behalf of owners Northern Trust, completed the deal. Joint agents on the scheme were Bailey Deakin Hamilton.
Simon Walmsley, management surveyor at Whittle Jones, said: “We are delighted that we have been able to secure the letting to FedEx. FedEx are a worldwide brand and we are pleased they chose Common Bank for their latest distribution facility.
“The Common Bank site offers excellent links with junctions 8 of the M61 and 27 and 28 of M6 within a short distance, which was one of the key factors in FedEx’s choice of location.”
Common Bank covers over 67,000 sq ft and forms part of the larger employment area within the district.
