You’ve got your A-Level’s, now start your own business
You’ve got your A-Level’s, now start your own business, suggests James Hardy, Head of Europe, Alibaba.com
“As many students nervously opened their A-level results last week, their thoughts will be turning to what they do next. Here at Alibaba.com, we hope many will choose to become their own boss.
According to U.K. Parliament statistics published this month, the unemployment rate for 16-24 year olds reached a worrying 21.4%.
However it’s not all doom and gloom as the Government has ring-fenced funds for budding youth entrepreneurs with the U.K.’s Start-Up Loans Company. This entity lends money and supports mentorship to young people aged 18-30 to help develop their business ideas.
Alibaba has lots of inspirational young and student business owners, running successful operations from ideas developed through during life experiences and personal interests. And it’s easy to see why as for less money and time than it takes to get a degree, you could start at least three businesses and be your own boss.
For any students today thinking about turning their ideas and experience into an exciting business venture, follow your heart, use the wealth of tools available to you including; modern technology, online marketplaces and Government funding.
Most importantly, be persistent and fearless. It could turn out to be the best life decision you ever made.“
