Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business overcomes 100 per cent of Zero-day threats in AV-Test

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business has produced perfect protection performance in a two-month testing by AV-Test in May-June 2013. The product, which secures corporate IT infrastructures, successfully repelled all attacks, including those which exploit open vulnerabilities in legitimate applications.

Regular and reliable blocks on incoming attacks are the basic criteria to assess the quality of any security product. Recently, tests have placed increased importance on the ability to deal with attacks involving vulnerabilities. These security gaps allow cybercriminals to bypass conventional signature-based security tools and infect computers.

Over the course of two months from May to June 2013, AV-Test assessed nine different solutions which were designed to protect corporate IT infrastructures. They were ranked on their ability to stop malicious attacks, their user-friendliness and more. Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business earned a top score of six points for protection performance. It successfully blocked 100 per cent of the attack scenarios arranged by the test designers, which attempts to exploit open vulnerabilities in applications. There was only one other competitor that achieved full marks.

When scanning the protected system, Kaspersky Lab’s product committed only four false positives; the average return for rival products was 21. In the overall testing results, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business achieved a top three finish, scoring a total of 15 points.

“We believe that the key feature any high-end security solution must include is its ability to protect computers within corporate environments from all types of cyberthreats, including those exploiting unpatched vulnerabilities in legitimate software. We are happy to see Kaspersky Lab’s product among the top performers in the new AV-Test analysis,” said Oleg Ishanov, Director Anti-Malware Research Kaspersky Lab.

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business has on numerous occasions earned high scores from renowed IT security experts. In the winter of 2013 AV-test experts recognised Kaspersky Lab’s product as the leader among corporate security products. In May 2013, the product demonstrated total efficiency in a Virus Bulletin testing.
