Lancashire construction group builds on solid success
The construction group Conlon has reported strong results for 2012/13 with turnover of £36.4m and net profits of £1.7m.
Both figures are up 7.8% on the previous year, and the Preston-based company confirmed it was pleased with a third successive year of improvement despite prevailing market conditions which remain challenging.
The company also created two new divisions earlier this year, both of which have secured a number of projects to date.
In his report, chairman Michael Conlon said: “Partnered projects have continued to be the cornerstone of our construction activity and we remain encouraged by work-in-hand and projects in the pipeline.
“This year we have strengthened our reputation by securing our first ever silver award through the Considerate Constructors scheme together with four Local Authority Building Control Awards.
“Accolades such as these stand us in good stead when tendering for local authority framework contracts as does our experience within the education, healthcare and commercial sectors.
“We are pleased that confidence is beginning to return to the market and are excited about taking the business forward and successfully delivering current projects during 2013/14.”
