Ashington's FES International begin Australian supply contract
Ashington’s FES International have begun a supply contract to the north west Australian coast.
The oil and gas engineering outfit signed a deal with French firm Technip to supply components for the Balnaves field development, about 180km offshore.
FES will supply the components known as ‘diverless bend stiffener connectors’ to Technip.
Managing director Rob Anderson said: “We’re particularly pleased to have won this contract because it represents repeat business from Technip.
“Relatively small isolated fields like those in the Carnarvon Basin mean the demand for nimble FPSO technology is growing rapidly and we’re happy to have satisfied the demand to deliver products which offer quick, efficient and cost-effective installation to the developer within its tough time constraints.”
