Elevated business for Elevation

Yorkshire-based recruitment firm, Elevation, has created a specialist senior finance team following a marked increase in the number of regional businesses looking to appoint at a senior level.

Joint managing director, Greg Parkinson, described the raft of internal appointments a ‘response to the demand for quality candidates’, amid an influx of requests from firms across the region with a need for senior financial professionals up to group financial director level.

The seven-strong team is led by Greg Parkinson and Lee Bhandal and boasts regional director Fran Lee; director Justin Barber; associate director, Dean Outram; business manager, Andy Bath; and senior consultant, Rob Simpson.

In the last twelve months alone Elevation has recruited for senior roles across Yorkshire in businesses specialising in manufacturing, financial and professional services and FMCG, placing more than 75+ senior financial professionals – including 45+ this financial year.

The Rotherham-headquartered company claims that its new operation is one of the region’s most experienced, with a combined total of more than 75 years’ in its specialist field, working with an array of SME and high profile PLC businesses across Yorkshire. The finance team gives it the tools it needs to fill those higher paying positions and liaise with talented candidates efficiently and effectively.

Greg Parkinson commented: “When the recession hit at the end of 2009, senior finance roles declined - especially financial director posts. But there has been a significant increase in the number of businesses recruiting senior players recently and we are responding to that demand.

“Not only are businesses now looking to hire more commercial, strategically minded finance professionals, but those professionals are demonstrating more confidence in the market by being open to that next career move.”

Opening its first office in 2010 Elevation has grown rapidly now employing more than 25 expert advisors based in offices in South and West Yorkshire. Teams recruit for permanent, temporary and interim roles in six specialist sectors; accountancy and finance; manufacturing and engineering; sales and marketing; office support; human resources and executive search.
