Regions stakeholders back the first Merseyside Independent Business Awards
The Merseyside Independent Business Awards, first of its kind for the Merseyside region, has gained the support of local stakeholders and leading business representatives.
Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, The Women’s Organisation and The BID Company are amongst those who have got behind the awards, launched for the first time this year to celebrate the region’s rich abundance of successful independent businesses.
Jenny Stewart, Chief Operating Officer at Liverpool Chamber of Commerce said: “This is a fantastic initiative, celebrating not just the wealth of burgeoning independent businesses but also celebrating regional relationships.
“Obviously, as Chief Operating Officer at Liverpool Chamber of Commerce, the city is my driving force. However, I can’t advocate enough the importance of harnessing the skills of our region as a whole to accelerate the growth and development of local business and commerce.
“I look forward to working alongside stakeholders and businesses from other areas to make the Merseyside Independent Business Awards a success.”
Event organisers are working with local stakeholders to ensure the campaign is comprehensive, measurable and inclusive of all types of business, irrespective of size, sector or geographic location.
There will be a number of awards including best manufacturing business and best retail business, along with special awards to recognise growth, innovation and investment into communities.
The overall winner of the Merseyside Independent Business of the Year will collect an impressive 12-month business support package including legal advice from law firm Morecrofts and a concentrated promotional air time campaign with Radio City 96.7, worth around £5,000.
The awards are being backed by Morecrofts, one of the city’s oldest independent law firms which is currently celebrating its 200th anniversary year.
A dinner will be held on Thursday 3rd October, where awards will be presented to category winners and will culminate with the announcement of overall Merseyside Independent Business of the Year. To further mark independent business successes, the relaxed ceremony will be held at Secret Space on Water Street, where attendees will receive welcome drink and set dinner, address from key note speak and there will be a variety of unique performances throughout the evening.
