Newcastle music agency partners with restaurant

A Newcastle music agency has partnered with North Shields-based gourmet restaurant Irvin’s Brasserie to provide a new live music night every Friday to accompany its 12am bar license and help cater for more customers.

Newcastle-based AMV Live Venues is providing the technical equipment and a selection of the most sought after musicians to the popular restaurant on North Shields’ Fish Quay following the refurbishment of its bar area.

Renowned for its locally sourced fresh produce, the restaurant has also incorporated a new bar and snack menu to celebrate the launch.

Graeme Cuthell, owner and head chef at Irvin’s Brasserie, said: “The whole idea behind introducing live music and a separate bar area was to engage with a different type of customer. A lot of people weren’t aware that you could come into Irvin’s just for a drink and a light bite, we’re hoping that knowing there is live music will help encourage more people to come in and enjoy a social evening in a relaxed environment.

“The talent we have had perform from AMV has been phenomenal and has already helped increase footfall with some customers coming in for the music alone.

“The team are excellent to work with, the artists are fantastic and our customers are really enjoying the new nights. We are thrilled with how it’s all working out and hope the nights continue to be very popular.”

Owned by Andrew Garner and Michael Forster, AMV Live Venues is an extension of its talent booking agency AMV Live Music supplying venues with equipment and sound systems as well as top North East acts.

Irvin’s Brasserie’s live music nights are every Friday night from 8pm.
