CALM charity partner for Liverpool's East z East

National and highly active on Merseyside charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), is proud to announce that they have been selected as charity partner by gourmet Indian restaurant East z East in Liverpool’s Kings Dock. The partnership is to be celebrated in a one off special ‘CALM Dine with me’ event-taking place at the popular Indian restaurant, East z East, on October 10 at 7pm.

The evening will showcase the new CALM menu, which launches on the night, and will see the charity benefit from a £1 donation each time a diner selects it from the £19.95 set menu. At the launch event diners will have a two-course meal, with a drink, from the specially-created CALM menu, showcasing the very best in traditional Punjabi cuisine, plus wonderful entertainment courtesy of Merseyside DJ stalwarts, Can’t Mix Won’t Mix - fresh from a busy festival season, including the closing of this year’s Glastonbury Festival! Special guests on the night will also include five times world champion Thai boxer, Ronnie Green, who will share his story. Tickets for the event can be purchased from www.calmdinewithme.eventbrite.com and cost £19.95 with £1 from each ticket sold going to CALM.

The event will also give guests a unique insight into CALM and the amazing work it does in reaching young men through music and sport. CALM exists to prevent male suicide in the UK; its helpline taking calls from across the UK. The charity also works locally, where it can, with local health commissioners in London and Merseyside, ensure that men are signposted to the local agencies available to them. Since it launched its ‘Merseyside CALMzone’ in 2000, suicide in the region has dropped year on year among young men and sits below the average for both the North West and England and Wales.

For every CALM set menu ordered at East z East at just £19.95, £1 will be donated to the charity.

Simon Howes, Regional Development Coordinator for CALM said:

“Every bloke I know connects over a good curry and a beer, it gives them a chance to download and have their own reset moment. We are made up that East z East has chosen to work with CALM.”

Mario Baritis Manager of East z East added:

“We wanted to work with a charity that connects with our staff and our customers, CALM does such great work and our industry is mostly male so as an employer we wanted to support a charity that our staff and our customers would appreciate.”
