James White Drinks win £250,000 Scandinavian contract for "Big Tom" juice

Suffolk-based specialist juice company James White Drinks has won a major new contract worth nearly £250,000 a year to supply their brand leading “Big Tom” spicy tomato juice in new 15cl cans to Skandjuice, a major European supplier to the Airline industry. The pack was developed specifically for Scandinavian Airlines (SAS).

The contract will see James White Drinks supply atleast 1 million units annually to the airline industry. “The deal enabled us to pack in 15cl mini cans for the first time.

This opens up the airline market for Big Tom as well offering us fantastic new opportunities in the travel and hospitality world. Big Tom sales have grown every single year for the past 15 years, but this really gives the Big Tom brand a significant boost.“ says Managing Director, Lawrence Mallinson.

The deal with SAS was secured after the airline decided to switch from a leading US brand to a non-genetically modified tomato juice. Big Tom was the obvious choice as the leading European branded bloody mary mix made with finest Portuguese non GMO tomatoes. It is made with only natural ingredients

Big Tom is currently sold in glass bottles in most supermarkets and many pubs in the UK. It is popular both as a savoury drink in its own right and with a shot of vodka as the basis of a consistently great bloody mary.

The juice won the royal seal of approval in 2002 with the grant of a Royal Warrant. Royal Warrant grants are personally chosen by the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Prince of Wales on advice from the Lord Chamberlain and given to manufacturers of their favourite products.

Lawrence Mallinson added: “I’m extremely excited about this contract win. It gives Big Tom an immediate substantial boost on the Continent where it has quietly been winning fans for years.

“Scandinavia and Holland are both territories where there is significant potential and the brand is set to double in size within 2 years.”
