Substantial growth for Yorkshire manufacturer

Yorkshire based specialist care furniture manufacturer Shackletons have announced a 36% increase in sales this financial year taking the financial year turnover to a massive 8.6 million.

The figures posted for the period 31st December 2012 show significant financial performance for the Dewsbury based manufacturer whose turnover is up 2.3 million from the previous year.

Heavy investment in technology, lean manufacturing systems and their research and development division is attributed as a contributing factor to the recent success and continuing growth.

Martyn Higgins, Managing Director at Shackletons says: “There is no doubt we are operating in a challenging market but our business strategy and values have paid dividends as we expand our client base throughout the care sector across the UK.”

Shackletons have been in the business of creating comfort for over 50 years and are the UK’s leading provider of specialist furniture which is manufactured in Yorkshire. They employ 70 people over two sites; one the manufacturing and operations site on Weaving Lane in Dewsbury and the other a retail site on Bradford Road in Batley.
