Kaspersky Lab appoints Anastassia Lauterbach to its Mobile Advisory Board

Kaspersky Lab announced today that Dr. Anastassia Lauterbach was appointed by Eugene Kaspersky to Kaspersky Lab’s Mobile Advisory Board as an Independent Director.

Until recently Dr. Lauterbach was Senior Vice President of Global Business Operations Europe at Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM), a world leader in 3G, 4G and next-generation wireless technologies, overseeing Qualcomm’s business interests across Europe, as well as leading Qualcomm’s expansion in Eastern European markets and Turkey. Before joining Qualcomm, Dr. Lauterbach spent over 14 years in various operational and strategic roles at Deutsche Telekom, Daimler Chrysler Financial Services, McKinsey & Company and Munich Reinsurance Company.

Dr. Lauterbach resides in Germany. She currently serves on Advisory and Supervisory Boards of several US and European-based technology companies, and as a director of D&B (NYSE: DNB), the world’s leading source of commercial information and insight on businesses.

“The number of mobile threats skyrocketed in 2012, and unfortunately the trend’s continuing this year,” stated Eugene Kaspersky. “‘Traditional’ cybercriminals, who created malware to target mobile devices in order to steal money, are now joined by hacktivists and government sponsored groups, who develop malware to steal confidential information. These new threats are a serious challenge for the security industry and for our company.

“As a truly innovative company we are continuously investing in research and development and have almost a 1000 people working in the R&D department all over the world,” said Nikolay Grebennikov, Chief Technology Officer at Kaspersky Lab. “At the moment we see great potential in the mobile security field and that’s why we’re reinforcing our team by inviting Anastassia on to our Mobile Advisory Board. Her extensive experience in the mobile market, digitalisation of business, and global operations and strategy will provide the Kaspersky Lab team with invaluable insights as we bring new wireless products to the market and grow internationally.”
