Dunelm Homes swings for success at South Moor Golf Club
North East homebuilder Dunelm Homes is on course for sporting success at the Middles Farm Village development in Stanley, County Durham after striking up a partnership with South Moor Golf Club to encourage more local residents to start a golfing hobby.
New residents of the Dunelm Homes development will now benefit from a free one year family membership at South Moor Golf Club to make use of all facilities on offer, as well as a free set of Wilson clubs to make sure their new golfing habit gets off on the right foot.
The partnership comes at a key time for the club, after recently announcing a Sport England grant of £48,224 has been awarded to South Moor from the National Lottery sporting legacy fund to create a new par 3 golf course.
The funding is part of Sport England’s Inspired Facilities Fund which is being extended until 2017, with an additional £40 million of National Lottery funding available to invest in local sport.
Colin Willetts, sales and marketing director at Dunelm Homes said: “South Moor Golf Club is situated on the doorstep of Middles Farm Village so it made sense to ensure current and future residents of the development have the opportunity to join in with the local community and make use of the fantastic facilities close by. We know first-hand that the Golf Club has a family-friendly policy and encourages and supports both young and older players which makes it a perfect fit for the Middles Farm Village.
“Thanks to the funding from Sport England now making it possible for the club to extend its facilities even further, we couldn’t be more pleased to be partnering with South Moor for our residents.”
Middles Farm Village offers a mix of two, three and four bedroom homes priced from £109,995. The development benefits from an excellent location in Stanley as well as the new higher specification houses rolled out across all Dunelm Homes development sites for 2013, including bi-fold doors and Marshall stone exteriors as well as branded appliances such as Smeg, Indesit and Hotpoint.
Guy Carr, Committee Member at South Moor Golf Club commented: “We have a thriving youth and adults programme at the golf club and we’re always looking at ways to encourage greater interaction in the game by local residents. With the fantastic award from Sport England set to make our short game facilities the envy of many clubs, we are hopeful that we will see more people using the facilities at South Moor to complete a round of golf, whether that be a quick play on the new short course or a full 18 holes.
“The residents of Middles Farm Village are in the perfect position to enjoy our current and new golfing facilities and we look forward to welcoming families to the club with their new set of clubs and family membership through Dunelm Homes.”
