Newly refurbished business centre offers character workspace at Southampton Marina
Following the acquisition of Enterprise House in Southampton earlier this year, United Business Centres (Midlands) Ltd is currently undertaking a full refurbishment of the business centre which is due to be completed at the end of September 2013.
United Business Centres acquired Enterprise House as an existing business centre with serviced offices spread across three floors. The site is located at the heart of Ocean Village Marina, a popular business and leisure destination in Southampton, which offers a central location just moments from the waterfront.
United Business Centres has embarked upon an extensive refurbishment and expansion project at Enterprise House, a former Victorian warehouse, transforming the previously tired, rundown space into a smart, contemporary business environment.
Existing clients are seeing first-hand the transformation that is taking place, with full refurbishment to the office space, communal areas and building facilities. Upon completion, the entrance and reception area will also be fully renovated and staffed by United Business Centres’ Southampton team, led by Customer Service Manager Sarah Brackpool.
“We all love Enterprise House,” said Sarah, who has worked there for over three years. “Even though the inside was dated we could see past it - and when United Business Centres took over they could see the potential in this building too. It’s so full of character with the original Victorian brick walls, beams and pillars, that we knew it was a diamond in the rough.”
As part of the refurbishment works, brand new office and lounge furniture has been installed along with a comfortable break-out area, new kitchens and bathrooms, and glazed panels throughout which offers a fresh, bright interior. As a Listed building, the Victorian property’s period charm has been retained, including restoration to exposed beams and brickwork features.
“We’re in the final stages of the refurbishment and we really have a centre that looks as wonderful inside as it does out,” said Sarah. “The new decor is crisp and professional yet it has retained its wonderful character. Enterprise House has finally received the TLC it so truly deserves. We are even more proud of the building now than we were before.”
The business centre is located across the ground, first and second floors, with many offices boasting superb views of the marina. Upon completion later this month, Enterprise House will offer 175 workstations across 17,000 sq ft, with workspace available to rent on flexible terms for small and medium-sized businesses.
“Enterprise House has always had such a lovely working atmosphere,” added Sarah. “We are lucky to have a community of various businesses in the building who have all contributed to a happy centre.”
Enterprise House offers ample on-site parking with excellent access to the A33, M3 and M27. Woolston Train Station is also within easy reach.
Ocean Village itself is a popular mixed-use marina which offers residential, leisure and business space. The area is currently undergoing a multi-million pound development initiative with Southampton’s tallest building under construction opposite Enterprise House, which is set to provide further residential space and leisure facilities upon completion.
United Business Centres operates a growing portfolio of flexible workspace locations across the UK, offering a range of solutions to suit businesses of all shapes and sizes, from sole traders to multinationals. The latest acquisition is in central Birmingham, at 65 Church Street, with more locations planned as part of United Business Centres’ ongoing growth strategy.
