Cheshire building group starting work on new development

Work on a multi-million pound development in Cheshire is due start as Elan Homes continues to grow its North West business.

The Ellesmere Port based developer has sold out at four locations already in 2013 – Cedars View in Mickle Trafford, Riverside at the Racecourse in Chester, The Maples in Crewe and Waters Edge in Nantwich.

Elan has developed properties at its newest ventures including Heritage Park in Penymynydd, near Chester, Forest Rise in Mouldsworth and Gosling Park in Croft, near Warrington.

The firm has now expanded its portfolio with the acquisition of a 3.5 acre site in Barton Road, Farndon.

Land acquisition director Richard Dean says: “We’re continually looking for land with development potential and this latest site offers the perfect opportunity to provide sustainable, high quality family housing in the desirable village location of Farndon. We have planning permission to build 32 homes and will be starting work on site very soon.

“Farndon is a thriving village and along with building new homes we’ve committed to providing substantial community contributions. These include affordable housing, improved play spaces, traffic calming measures, bus stops and support for local schools.”

Known as Fern Lea, the development will feature two, three and four-bedroom properties.

Elan will be providing a tree-lined entrance and new hedges as part of the development, which will also include open space with existing oak trees being retained.
