Ignite 100 move into Generator Studios
Ignite 100, the Newcastle accelerator program for technology start-ups, has moved into new offices in the city’s Generator Studios.
The organisation has secured 2,270 sq ft of ground floor office space from which it will operate its mentoring and seed capital programme.
Tristan Watson of Ignite100 said: “We bring ten companies from across the world into Newcastle for Ignite100 and so we needed a world class work space. Generator Studios has everything we need for the companies to thrive and grow, and it’s really inspiring to have so many exciting businesses as neighbours in the building.”
Director of Newcastle office agency at BNP Paribas Real Estate, Aidan Baker, added: “It is really exciting to see an innovative company like Ignite100 move into Generator Studios. The company chose this building due to its contemporary design and innovative working space, coupled with its central location, making it easily accessible for start-ups to attend its programme.”
Generator 1, a Grade II listed building was originally developed in 2004 and became a hub for creative industries. Generator 2, the 26,000 sq ft Grade A office expansion of Generator 1 in Trafalgar Street, Newcastle was completed in 2009 and is now 85% let.
Other tenants in the building include: Hedgehog Lab, B3 Architects, Low Carbon Lighting and technology firm Foster Findlay Associates, along with Nathaniel Litchfield and Gardiner Richardson. A limited number of studios are still available from 1,000 to 5,900 sq ft.
BNP Paribas Real Estate acted on behalf of Metnor.
