Paul Crowley & Co Manager appointed to Law Society Lexcel Panel
Tracy Thompson, Practice Development Manager at Liverpool law firm Paul Crowley & Co, has been appointed to the Law Society Lexcel Panel for a term of three years.
Tracy is one of only 10 representatives on the national panel whose role it is to assess which legal firms have met the standards required for the law management quality mark.
The panel boasts a rigorous selection and interview process and successful candidates must demonstrate expert knowledge of the scheme, the Solicitors Code of Conduct, risk management, indemnity insurance market and the legal industry.
As only 10% of the UK’s total law firms have met the requirements, the panel’s role is crucial in maintaining Lexcel’s high standards of accreditation
Tracy will serve on the panel until August 2016 and will be involved in making decisions on the scheme certification and approvals process. The Lexcel Panel also consider present and future patterns of professional practice, and assist the Lexcel Office in maintaining and improving the standard.
Tracy says: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to become a member of the panel, and in particular I am excited to be able to offer some input into the future development of the scheme.”
Lexcel is the Law Society’s practice management standard and is made up of firms consisting of sole practitioners, small, medium and large law firms and in-house legal departments. The scheme aims to provide law firms and in-house legal departments with a management framework to improve efficiency and client care.
Paul Crowley & Co were awarded the Lexcel accreditation in 2012 and is also accredited with the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme and is the current holder of the Your Move Best Property Law Firm award.
