North East businesses can gain an insight into India

Access India Event 27th September 2013: Radissonblu Durham, 09.00hrs - 12.30hrs

The ERDF funded Access India Programme has teamed up with North East Process Industries Cluster and UKTI to host the first in a series of workshops and interactive seminars, highlighting the global business opportunities available in what is now the world’s tenth largest economy.

Taking place the morning of Friday 27 September, from 9.00am to 12.30pm at Durham’s Radissonblu, the session will give insight into the potential trade opportunities within the education sectors across India.

India is renowned for having the largest number of higher education institutions in the world and this, combined with a growing appetite for learning, looks set to create capacity for an extra ten million students over the next five years – a figure that cannot be ignored.

The Access India event will see Phillip Sydenham, ‎Deputy Head of Trade and Investment for the Western Region of India at UKTI, speak in-depth around the Indian market, whilst Q&A sessions and a panel discussion will give invaluable advice and dispel myths around doing business there.

Delegates from the Education sector can hear about the thriving opportunities as well as the key to success in India from UK Indian Business Council Skills & Education Sector Manager Jesh Rajasingham. Professor Simon Hodgson of Teesside University will be discussing their experiences working in India including distance learning, course accreditation and student recruitment.

The event is free to attend and will serve as a prelude to a sponsored Market Visit to India in March 2014.

Spaces are limited and to register please contact gemma.bainbridge@necc.co.uk or call 08450 7688330.
