Peel opens Liverpool Waters project office
Peel is to take what it describes as a ‘significant step forward’ in its Liverpool Waters development plans by opening a dedicated project office in the city centre.
The office – which will be headed by Development Investment Surveyor Ian Pollitt – will be located at the company’s new flexible office development, The Quay, on Princes Dock.
It marks the next stage in the project’s lifecycle and comes as the company celebrates its first tenant in The Quay – international property consultant Dunlop Heywood.
The Quay is based on the ground floor of No.12 Princes Dock and offers a range of flexible office suites from 100 sq.ft. to 470 sq.ft. All the suites offer floor to ceiling glazing providing waterside views across Princes Dock.
Mr Pollitt said: “We are at a stage where a permanent project office is required so we can better co-ordinate our investment and delivery activity for the Liverpool Waters project.
“It will be the first time Peel has had a permanent base in the city centre and is a reflection of the company’s continued commitment to the city and to the delivery of the Liverpool waters vision.”
The Liverpool Dunlop Heywood office will be managed by John Valentine as part of his responsibilities as the head of the North West region for the company. Three people will work full time in the office initially, with plans to have a 10-strong team in Liverpool within 18 months.
Staff working from the Liverpool office will include Sophie Attwood and Steve Brittle. The office will help the rating and property & asset management teams service national clients such as Peel Holdings, Port of Liverpool and Speedy Hire.
Princes Dock is a hub of business activity set in 14.5 hectares, situated within the £6 billion redevelopment scheme of Liverpool waterfront; Liverpool Waters, which received Central Government approval for the planning permission in March 2013. The Liverpool Waters vision involves regenerating a 60 hectare historic dockland site to create a world-class, high-quality, mixed use waterfront quarter in central Liverpool.
Princes Dock is located adjacent to the Liver Building alongside the new cruise liner facility. The Leeds and Liverpool canal extension passes alongside.
There are over 2,500 people employed within Princes Dock with occupiers including Coutts Bank, PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG, Atlantic Container Liners. Occupiers benefit from on-site parking, 24-hour security, dedicated on-site maintenance team, on-site member health and leisure club, convenience store, cafe, bars, restaurants and a day nursery.
In addition to three Grade A office buildings, Princes Dock is home to two high quality hotels; the Crowne Plaza and Malmaison, three luxury apartment towers and a 760 space multi storey car park.
