Firms get behind Coventry Rugby Club

Coventry Rugby Club got their season off to a flying start with two wins on and off the pitch.

The National League One side matched its campaign-opening home and away wins by signing up two local firms as sponsors.

Independent commercial insurance broker Inspire Insurance Services and law firm Band Hatton Button are both back on board at the Butts Park Arena for a third successive season.

Inspire Insurance Services has increased its support by extending its sponsorship to the main stand and a first-team player throughout 2013-14.

Leigh Mackey, managing director of Inspire Insurance Services, said: “Although we provide services throughout the UK, our roots are firmly here in Coventry and I’m delighted to be able to share in our success by renewing and extending our sponsorship of Coventry Rugby Club.

“As a lifelong supporter, it means a lot to me on a personal level to be putting something back into the club that I have grown up with and it’s great to see the name of the company that I founded emblazoned on the main stand.”

Band Hatton Button, which became one of the largest law practices in the city following the merger of Band Hatton, Button Legal and Varley Hibbs earlier this year, continues its corporate sponsorship as well as providing legal advice to the club.

Philip Costigan, senior partner of Band Hatton Button, said: “Coventry Rugby Club has a very proud heritage and we are delighted to have the opportunity to give them the support to hopefully help them back to better times.

“Several members of our team at Band Hatton Button are former amateur rugby players so we have a strong alliance and enthusiastic interest in the sport. Coventry got their league campaign off to a great start and we wish them all the best for the season ahead.”

Jon Sharp, chairman of Coventry Rugby Club, said: “We are delighted to have the continued support of Inspire Insurance Services and Band Hatton Button.

“Having these two local firms renew their sponsorship for a third season is a fantastic commitment to Coventry Rugby Club as we look to build on what has been a great start to our league campaign.”
