Football and the economy: closer than we thought?

Bdaily was at last week’s Leeds’ City Summit, part of Leeds Business Week, and picked up on an interesting point.

Gerald Jennings, a director at commercial property firm Land Securities, suggested that in order to boost the Leeds economy - something needs to be done about the performance of the football club.

Whilst a wry quip, perhaps Gerald’s comments hold some truth. He argued that a successful football club resonates around the world.
