Recommendation hat-trick for Leeds firm in national league table
Leeds-based legal practice, Emsleys, is celebrating a hat-trick of recommendations in the prestigious league table of national law firms: Legal 500.
The latest edition of the independent guide, which surveys more than 250,000 corporate counsels annually, recommends Emsleys for its personal injury work for claimants, its family law services and its work in personal tax, trusts and probate.
Partner, Andrew Greenwood, said: “We know we’re getting it right when our clients recommend us – we’ve seen a 24% increase in private client referrals over the past 12 months – but it’s also gratifying to get the recognition of our peers.”
The Legal 500 accolades follows a period of expansion for the firm, with a 10.1% growth in turnover and 33.6% increase in net profits year-on-year. Success has been fuelled by a suite of initiatives that includes fixed fee services; a client rewards programme; a specialist online divorce advisory service; and free packages such as Review My Claim, which helps accident victims get the compensation they are entitled to.
The motivation for this offer came from ramping shoddy practice in the field. Andrew Greenwood added: “I’ve worked in personal injury for more than 28 years and have seen standards in some quarters deteriorate massively over that time. Many law firms and claims management companies use unqualified and inexperienced claims handlers who are incentivised to settle quickly.
“Claimants are often pressured into making quick decisions, accepting compensation which is nowhere near what they’re entitled to. Our job is to make sure accident victims have all the information they need.”
