Russell Taylor staff get ready for ToughMudder trial
For the staff of one Wirral based business they certainly don’t mind going the extra mile for work, but now they are taking on a challenge which will see them going even further but this time for charity.
Four staff of Russell Taylor Associates, an dependent technical recruitment agency and training provider based in Bromborough, have decided that actions speak louder than words and have volunteered themselves to undertake the gruelling ToughMudder event in aid of the company’s chosen charity, Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Liam Gover, Tom Owens, Stuart Watson and Brendon Hogan will take on the task in early October.
Tough Mudder events are extreme hard core twelve mile long obstacle courses designed by the Special Forces which test a persons all around strength, stamina, mental grit, and camaraderie.
The challenge is to run 10 - 12 mile cross country on an SAS styled course with a difference. There are the usual obstacles of 10 ft high walls, monkey bars, crawling flat out under barbed wire etc.,but there are others obstacles such as plunging into giant ice vats and running through fields of fire and the electric eel - basically running through live electrical wires!!
Peter Russell, Chairman of Russell Taylor Associates, said “I am extremely proud of my staff for the commitment and dedication they have put into this event, it would easier for them to run a marathon but they have decided that this is a challenge worth taking on behalf of such a worthy cause as the Claire House Children’s Hospice. Suffice to say my thoughts will be with them, they are not only making Russell Taylor Associates delighted by their efforts butWirral should also be very proud to support their bravery and enthusiasm.”
