Citadel recognised for construction quality

A leading manufacturer of security, access and leisure solutions has added acceptance into the Federation of Master Builders to its already long list of accreditations and affiliations.

Citadel Industries, which has its headquarters in Telford, Shropshire, has achieved the FMB and TrustMark standards following a vigorous process of checks, references and physical inspection of its staff on a live construction site.

The work to be accepted into the Federation of Master Builders, the UK’s recognised standard for trustworthy construction businesses, supports recent moves by the company to expand its services into complete refurbishment and accessibility solutions, from design to installation, into addition to its traditional role as a manufacturer of fencing, handrails and architectural metalwork.

Operations director at Citadel Industries, Chris Brydges, explained: “At Citadel we have always put great store by being properly accredited and being able to demonstrate our high standards, holding ISO 9001 for quality management standards, ISO 14001 for our environmental credentials and ISO 18001 for health and safety standards, among many other industry accreditations.

“When we work in a sector we ensure we get everything right because we focus very much on individual relationships with our customers, whether they are buying security fencing for an airport, architectural balustrades for an office building or having us design and install an accessibility upgrade at a GP surgery. That relationship starts with them being to trust from the outset that we are a skilled, responsible and independently audited business. That’s why we’re pleased to have secured acceptance into Federation of Master Builders.”

The company’s focus on accreditation also feeds into its programme of ongoing development for its staff, who are encouraged to take up extra training and qualifications for a variety of skills.

It has invested heavily in new staff and enhanced computer aided design technology in recent months, allowing the creation of bespoke solutions for clients as well as enhancing its own new product pipeline.
