Blacks Solicitors partner wins influential English Asian Business Award
Luke Patel, partner in commercial dispute resolution at Leeds-based Blacks Solicitors LLP, has been named the ‘Best Professional in Business’ at the annual English Asian Business Award ceremony.
Each year, hundreds of businesspeople and companies from across the UK come together to celebrate and honour Asian men and women who are firmly at the forefront of their industries, at the event.
Unlike other industry accolades, the English Asian Business Awards are based purely on nominations, so those who find themselves shortlisted have been put there because of the feedback and recognition of their peers.
Over 100 candidates were recommended for the ‘Best Professional in Business’ award, which was then whittled down to just six. Luke’s high profile work with the Supreme Court, which has attracted national and international renown, was one of a number of reasons for his scooping the prestigious gong as eventual winner.
Commenting on his award, Luke Patel said: “I feel so privileged and honoured that all the hard work undertaken in recent years, especially on the high profile cases, has been recognised. Thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate me.”
Blacks Solicitors managing partner, Chris Allen, added: “Luke, or ‘the Litigation Lion’ as he’s known to one and all at the firm, really deserves this recognition. He has a fantastic profile within the Asian business community and we’re all very proud of his achievement.”
The legal practice has 16 partners who provide a range of services to owner managed businesses and have niche specialisations in employment law, sports law and music law.
