Three Lancashire councils combine to promote business networking
Organised by three councils in Lancashire, the 2013 Central Lancashire Business Event aims to help companies learn the secrets of effective networking – both on and offline.
Speakers will give their expert and practical advice on how to get the best out of social media such as LinkedIn, tips for effective online marketing and reveal what makes a successful networker.
The free event, organised by Preston, South Ribble and Chorley Councils with support from Events Northern, is being hosted at the Lancastrian Suite, Chorley Town Hall from 5.30pm on Wednesday 9 October.
Leader of Preston City Council, Councillor Peter Rankin, said: “Supporting the local business community is an important part of our work and these events are always well attended. I am confident that businesses will go away with some great ideas to help them grow and move forward.”
Councillor Phil Smith, South Ribble Borough Council cabinet member for regeneration, leisure and healthy communities, said: “This event is an opportunity not to be missed. It has been a huge success in the past and this year, I am sure, will be better than ever.
“Businesses throughout the area will have the chance to boost their networking potential, something which is important in keeping the local area thriving.”
Chorley Council Leader, Councillor Alistair Bradley, added: “Boosting the local economy continues to be one of our main priorities in Chorley so we set up a package of measures to help and support local businesses. Events such as these play an important part within that by offering businesses the support they need to help them succeed.
Central Lancashire Business Events are provided by a partnership between Preston, South Ribble and Chorley Councils. The aim is to assist businesses in Central Lancashire to develop their skills and grow sustainable businesses as a result.
Event speakers are:
Mike Ode, Owner and Director, Potential Unearthed
