Entrepreneur's Forum conference set for Rockliffe Hall

Economics, digital entrepreneurship and a £15m diet business will be on the menu at one of the most exciting events in the North East business calendar when the Entrepreneurs’ Forum hosts its annual conference.

Inspirational speakers from across the UK, including company bosses, an international motivational coach and one of the country’s leading economists will take the stage at the conference – the first time the Forum has held in the south of the region

As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, the Entrepreneurs’ Conference is supported by principal partner Tees Valley Unlimited, the Local Enterprise Partner for Tees Valley.

Nicola Short, Chief Executive of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum, said: “This is set to be one of the biggest and most exciting events in the Entrepreneurs’ Forum’s ten-year history.

“It is a great mix of local, regional and national businesses, alongside insightful and inspirational speakers, such as Liam Halligan and Steve Black.

“There has already been a lot of interest in this event and we would encourage anybody who wants to come along to book soon.”

Digital media entrepreneur Chris van der Kuyl, chairman Tayforth Consulting and the Scottish Entrepreneurial Exchange, will be one of the key speakers engaging attendees.

With experience from starting his own business to market listing and even being part of the team involved in the £25m acquisition of the Friends Reunited Group, van der Kuyl has vast experience.

Kevin Dorren, founder of Diet Chef, a company which has grown into a market leader in the UK, will also be speaking about his experiences of creating a brand and service and taking it to the top of its industry.

Halligan, chief economist at Prosperity Capital Management and economics columnist at The Sunday Telegraph will also be giving his view on the environment within which entrepreneurs operate.

Additional key speakers will include two people with very strong North East links: international sports coach and mentor Steve Black and Sarah Davies, entrepreneur and founder of County Durham-based Crafter’s Companion, now a global enterprise.

Stephen Catchpole, Managing Director of Tees Valley Unlimited, said: “This is a rare opportunity to hear from such a fantastic array of speakers, here in the Tees Valley. Global Entrepreneurship Week is a fabulous opportunity to celebrate the importance of entrepreneurial businesses to the regional economy.

“We are very lucky to have such a unique organisation in the North East as the Entrepreneurs’ Forum, which recognises this value and nurtures it.”

The conference takes place at Rockliffe Hall, near Darlington, on Thursday, November 21, from 9am to 5pm, with tickets costing £99+VAT for members of the Entrepreneurs’ Forum and guests, or £125+VAT for non-members. Call 0191 500 7780.
