Lara Morgan joins board of Clothes2Order

Corporate uniforms supplier Clothes2Order has appointed entrepreneur Lara Morgan to its board as a non-executive director.

Lara turned down 32 other offers of non-executive roles before agreeing to join the board of Clothes2Order, which is based in Trafford Park, Greater Manchester.

She is best-known as the founder of Pacific Direct Group, which makes and distributes licensed toiletries and other guest amenities, such as umbrellas, sewing kits and slippers, to hotels, cruise lines and airlines.

Lara set up Pacific Direct in 1991 at the age of 23 and sold it in 2008 for £20m to Primary Capital.

She then founded, and currently heads, CompanyShortcuts.com, a platform to support growing businesses with their training and leadership skills development.

Lara is also an author, a co-founder of StartUp Britain and recently appeared on the panel of TV’s The Apprentice: You’re Fired.

She has a reputation as a passionate and straight-talking entrepreneur and said of her latest appointment: “I want to make a fundamental difference to Clothes2Order.

“The company has ambitious growth plans and I have been impressed by recent developments in the business, such as its new website, and by its commitment to innovate.

“Added to that, I love manufacturing, so I am really excited at the prospect of helping Clothes2Order to expand.”

Clothes2Order prints and embroiders logos on to polo shirts, t-shirts, hoodies and sweatshirts for businesses, clubs and societies as well as promotions and events.

It has seen sales surge this year following an investment of £350,000 to double capacity and upgrade its e-commerce operations and website.

The company is part of Quayside Group and employs 41 staff. It supplies more than 10,000 businesses and organisations across the UK and Europe.

Managing director Michael Conway said: “Lara is an exceptional entrepreneur and we see a strong role for her in terms of helping to increase our sales and our overall business development.

“She has great experience of growing a business, and understands our industry.

“We are well-positioned for further growth in the future and having Lara on board will help us to achieve our goals.”
