The new premises provide an additional 27,000 sq. ft.of high bay fabrication facilities at Teesside Offshore Base on the River Tees and are in addition to the current 2.4 acre fabrication site in Middlesbrough and the company’s machining and fabrication facility based in Hartlepool.

SBV presently employs more than 300 people across current operations, including work at customer sites.

SBV director Sam Condren said: “The new facility givesus the ability to take on even larger projects in the off-shore, subsea and oil and gas sectors whilst still continuing to develop our existing customer base.

We’re working with a number of new customers who need suppliers who have the necessary footprint and established infrastructure to support their requirements and the new facility demonstrates our ability to meet this need“

The new facility is part of the company’s strategy to broaden its market offering and comes on the back of an expansion in the workforce from 90 to 300 since 2010. This also includes a dedicated stainless steel fabrication facility commissioned in 2009 and work on carbon, stainless steel, duplex and aluminium fabrications for the nuclear, subsea, and offshore markets.
