Gott encourages garages to go for gold

After celebrating a successful first year of Gott’s Golden Garages, leading vehicle equipment supplier, Gott Technical Services, is bringing back its awards which were launched to recognise garages, technicians and future talent in the automotive industry.

The family-run business is calling for workers in the trade or customers to nominate a garage or an individual employee for excellent practice or experience in garage equipment, maintenance, service and training across the North of England.

Gott’s Golden Garage awards are seeking nominations for six different categories and nominations are open from now until Friday 20 December. Last year’s awards saw winners come together and race around a karting track before being presented with their certificates.

Nominations can be submitted via Gott Technical Services’ social media channels, including a Facebook and Twitter page, and its blog where automotive news roundups and special offers are regularly posted. They can also be submitted via email and post.

This year’s categories include Best Technician, Best Service Manager, Apprentice of the Year and Star Student of the Year to acknowledge individuals both at professional and academic status inclusive of all levels of experience.

One garage will be chosen as Best Overall Garage – a category that is open to smaller independent businesses through to larger dealerships – and a light-hearted addition this year is Best Team Mascot for the person who makes the best brew, drums up the team’s spirits or is simply the class clown!

Gott Technical Services director Ian Gott said: “We’re excited to be able to bring Gott’s Golden Garages back for a second year and are looking forward to seeing this year’s entries.

“It’s always been a keen interest of mine to support young people coming into the industry and therefore the awards aim to reward automotive apprentices, new faces and students alike.

“At the same time, there are technicians and managers of garages far and wide who have dedicated a significant part of their career to vehicle maintenance and repair, so we also want to recognise their hard work.”

Nominations close on 31 January 2014, with category winners to be announced in February. The judging panel will be made up of a team of three Gott Technical Services experts, including managing director Ian Gott.

To nominate in any of the Gotts Golden Garages categories go to www.gotttechnicalservices.net, like ‘Gott Technical Services’ on Facebook or tweet @gottservices using #GottsGoldenGarages.
