Ringtons tea-ms up with the Vermont to brew up a storm
Luxury Newcastle hotel The Vermont has appointed family firm Ringtons as its sole purveyor of tea and coffee following a £4.5million refurbishment.
Ringtons Beverages, the food services division of Newcastle-based Ringtons, initially secured a contract to provide the city centre hotel with its full range of bedroom service products for its 101 guest rooms.
Following its success, Ringtons has now rolled out its coffee proposition installing bulk brew equipment within the hotel’s 90-seater restaurant, while its range of gourmet espresso beans, filter coffee, tea and ancillary products will now be served throughout the hotel’s refurbished function suites, bars and lounge.
To further complement the four-star hotel’s multi-million renovation project, which has seen its six function rooms transformed while enhancements have also been made to the lounge and reception area, Ringtons has also provided the hotel’s food and beverages and events staff with a fresh scoop of barista knowledge at its state-of-the-art barista training facility.
Stephen Drysdale, head of department at Ringtons Beverages, said: “Offering its guests quality, fresh local produce is extremely important to The Vermont’s management and we are delighted to be part of the hotel’s food and beverages offering.
“As part of the roll out of our products we have provided extensive training to the hotel’s 25-strong food and beverages and events teams, arming them with a truly comprehensive insight into producing a consistent high-quality hot beverages service.
“So far, the feedback that the hotel has received from guests has been extremely positive and its team have been enthused by what they have learnt.”
Part of the draw to welcome the Ringtons brand to The Vermont Hotel came with the desire to source and use fresh local produce from the North East. The Vermont Hotel’s general manager, Shadia Thanon said: “Our mission is to provide our customers with only the best products and service available. We aspire to be the leading hotel in Newcastle; offering the extemporary service, exquisite facilities and of course the finest products. As an independent hotel is also essential to us that we work with local businesses such as Ringtons to achieve this.
“Ringtons is an extremely successful brand and is synonymous with the heritage of the North East, as it blends and packs its products within its factory based here in Newcastle.
“Since Ringtons began supplying the hotel, we have received a noticeably positive response from our guests, many of which have commented on the quality of their hot beverages, particularly those who enjoy our Traditional Afternoon Tea service.”
In addition to supplying its premium tea and coffee products, Ringtons has also teamed up with The Vermont Hotel to offer a series of national competitions to help promote Newcastle & Gateshead as a vibrant visitor destination.
