NE cleaning company tidies up all over the North
A Darlington cleaning business has secured hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of new contracts to help with its expansion and recruitment drive.
MJF Cleaning Services, which provides a range of commercial cleaning services to companies all over the UK, has recently clinched a number of new contracts with Shepherd Construction for projects in the Leeds and Lincoln areas.
In Leeds, MJF’s construction team is working on new sites providing daily cleaning services at workforce accommodation, while in Lincoln their services are being used at schools.
As well as the new work with Shepherd, MJF has also won new contracts with Narec (the New and Renewable Energy Centre)- in Blyth- where their industrial team will provide high-level cleaning services, and with Darlington Council to carry out high-level window cleaning on all council-owned buildings in the town.
As a result of the new business, worth in the region of £200,000 to MJF Cleaning Services, the company has increased its workforce from 125 to in the region of 140 with plans to add around 30 new jobs before the end of the year.
Managing director of MJF Cleaning Services, Martin Ferguson, said: “It’s a real boost for us, as a relatively young business, to be now securing these bigger, long-term contracts with some major names and top organisations. We’re seeing sure signs that the economy is picking up again and confidence is returning, especially in the construction sector.
“As a business, MJF is now ahead of where we were forecasted to be but we are still in a development phase with big plans for next year as we hope to launch in new locations.”
Darlington entrepreneur, Martin Ferguson, established MJF Cleaning Services in 2006 whilst working as a window cleaner and has secured prestigious contracts with companies such as Rockliffe Hall, JD Wetherspoon, Cleveland Cable and Morgan Sindall.
As well as daily office, commercial and specialist industrial cleaning services, MJF carries out large and small scale cleaning projects such as carpet and upholstery cleaning, window and high-level cleaning and clean-downs on construction sites ahead of handovers to clients.
