Santia boosts project profitability and reduces application development costs with solution from m-hance
Santia Consulting, the UK’s leading provider of health & safety risk management solutions, has selected an ERP and CRM system from m-hance to increase organisation wide efficiency and improve management reporting. m-hance’s integrated system, which seamlessly interfaces with Santia’s erisk scheduling tool, is enabling the company to increase the profitability of its projects and reduce the total cost of ownership across its business software applications by 60 per cent through replacing multiple standalone solutions.
Santia employs around 500 staff throughout the UK and in its overseas operations in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates providing an extensive range of risk management services and accreditation solutions. Running large-scale consultancy projects in different countries often requires multiple teams to work simultaneously to strict deadlines where clients’ needs can quickly change. Finding staff with the required competencies to satisfy specific project requirements is crucial to Santia’s success, however as the organisation expanded it was experiencing some challenges in managing its business operations efficiently.
Anthony Hewer, Head of IT at Santia Consulting, explains, “Our ERP system had been heavily customised. Extracting and analysing key financial, HR and project management data from multiple systems and spreadsheets was slow and unreliable. The lack of integration with our internal business systems also impacted our ability to quickly schedule and align the skills of our employees to specific client projects and more closely monitor our costs.”
After reviewing the market, Santia selected an integrated ERP and CRM solution from m-hance which has been tightly integrated into the company’s erisk scheduling application. With the new system in place, Santia has significantly improved the accessibility of financial, HR, sales and project information throughout the organisation, eliminating time-consuming manual processes and improving data accuracy and decision making. The company can now assign its employees based on the requirements and schedule of a project, or based on their skills and availability to ensure that resources are deployed efficiently and effectively.
In addition, m-hance’s integrated system has replaced three standalone CRM solutions from Sage, Achiever and Salesforce.com with a single, central information source. This has enabled Santia to reduce the total cost of ownership across its business software applications by 60 per cent whilst enabling its senior management, finance, sales and marketing staff to adopt a more informed and strategic view of the business and its customers.
Hewer comments, “m-hance has a proven track record of integrating ERP and CRM solutions and was able to expertly manage the first phase of our implementation to very tight timescales, on time and to budget. The success of this project has enabled us to move away from an ineffective and highly customised ERP solution to a more standardised version that has transformed our business efficiency levels and significantly reduced the total cost of ownership across our core business software applications.”
Hewer adds, “As our trusted IT partner, m-hance has given us the confidence to combine our front-office and back-office function. We now have a single version of the truth which has improved the visibility and accuracy of information throughout the organisation. Having greater control over our project management costs has increased our profitability levels, and by gaining increased insight into our employees skills we can quickly identify the best workers to fulfil our clients’ needs, further improving customer service.”
m-hance’s system has initially been made available to 200 users in Santia’s asbestos and health and safety divisions and will be rolled-out to other departments as part of a phased implementation by the end of November 2013.
