Technology contract awarded for new Blackpool hospital unit
NG Bailey’s Engineering division has been awarded a £9.9m contract to deliver mechanical and electrical, public health and information management and technology services to The Harbour, a new inpatients unit in Blackpool.
Working alongside main contractor, Integrated Health Projects, a joint venture between VINCI Construction UK and Sir Robert McAlpine, the company will provide mechanical and electrical services throughout the building and install heating, ventilation and cooling throughout, as well as a stand-by generator and HV transformer.
NG Bailey’s IT Services division will also provide a security system, which will include access controls, electronic door locking systems, CCTV and intruder alarms.
Managing director of the Engineering division, Mike Darlington, said: “This is a fantastic project and we’re delighted to have been chosen to provide the services required.
“By pairing up with our IT Services division, it has enabled us to meet the specific requirements of the clients brief and provide a bespoke, full service solution.”
NG Bailey will start work on site in November.
