Mobile launch for Cheshire games firm
Cheshire-based Playdemic has launched its successful Facebook game Village Life on mobile devices.
The game features full cross-platform play, so Facebook players can retain their progress when downloading the app on iOS.
Village Life sees players growing virtual villagers from birth, helping them through all the key stages of life. Events may include their first date, getting married, having children and eventually old age. Players can also interact with villagers from other players’ games.
Village Life has attracted 16 million players since its launch last December. Playdemic, based in Wilmslow, also operates the established Gourmet Ranch franchise .
Chairman Ian Livingstone, said: “Village Life has enjoyed great success on Facebook. More recently, a growing number of fans have been asking to play the game on their mobile devices as well as on Facebook.
“So I’m delighted to announce they can now play Village Life on both platforms. We are extremely excited about bringing Village Life to a whole new mobile audience.”
Village Life is now available to download for free on iOS devices, and is supported via in-app purchases. The game currently has over 1.7 million monthly active players on Facebook.
Earlier this month, Playdemic secured a large venture capital investment from The North West Fund for Digital & Creative.
