City Councils gather to reveal their low carbon initiatives
Businesses and property owners will be able to meet the people behind the region’s most high profile energy efficiency schemes at a Retrofit Yorkshire and Humber Conference taking place at Magna Science Centre, nr Sheffield on 12 November 2013.
Organised by Retro Expo Ltd, the Retrofit Yorkshire and Humber Conference will be bringing together all of the region’s city councils and other local retrofit experts to explore the innovative low carbon initiatives that are taking place across the region, how we can generate demand and ways in which local businesses can be part of these plans. Key note speakers include the following organisations: SIG360, Sheffield City Council, Yorkshire Energy Partnership, Leeds City Region, Hull City Council, Kirklees Council, Yorkshire Energy Services, Leeds Metropolitan University and Green Energy Centre.
The conference will:
- Outline the region’s plans for the mass rollout of retrofit in Leeds, Sheffield and Hull, and, crucially, how the local supply chain and stock owners can be part of these plans.
- Through case studies explore what people really want and how to generate demand
- Give guidance on how to tackle the traditional stock in the region – addressing planning issues and choosing the right solutions for older buildings.
- Debate how we can ensure that future retrofit activity has long lasting and positive economic, social and environmental benefits for the region
Targeted at local authorities, housing associations and the supply chain the all-day conference (from 8.30am – 4.30pm) will be packed with presentations and workshops with time set aside to network. The latest energy efficient technologies will also be on display by exhibitors including: SIG360, Structherm, 4ECO and Ceramic Fuel Cells.
