Kaspersky Lab products for business take first place in Dennis Technology Labs testing

Kaspersky Lab announces that Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business and Kaspersky Small Office Security have both earned first place in quarterly independent testing performed by Dennis Technology Labs for corporate security solutions and small business solutions, respectively.

Based on the results of the Enterprise Anti-Virus Protection test, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business scored 1009 points out of a possible 1048, placing it first in the test and earning the product the highest AAA rating. The Kaspersky Lab product detected 100% of the cyber threats launched by the test organisers — a result that none of the other participants were able to achieve. In the Legitimate Software Ratings scenario, which tests whether the security solutions produce false positives for legitimate applications, the Kaspersky Lab product earned 709 points; the overall test average was 679.

During the Small Business Anti-Virus Protection test, Kaspersky Small Office Security came out on top and was the only solution to earn an AAA rating. During testing to determine the protection score, the product detected 98% of threats. It also earned 725 points in the Legitimate Software Ratings test, which was the best score in terms of least false positives generated.

A 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 operating system was used during testing. The test computers also had popular software programs such as Adobe Flash Player, Adobe Reader, and Oracle Java installed. Malicious users often target vulnerabilities in these programs in order to launch cyber-attacks against user computers.

“In the event of a successful cyber-attack, a company could potentially incur major damages, including reputation damages and business interruptions that lead to a complete suspension of operations. Often, the objective of cybercriminals is to get their hands on confidential information about clients or the intellectual property of an organisation. That is why it is critical to protect the corporate environment using solutions whose effectiveness has been proven by independent studies,” said Oleg Ishanov, Director of Anti-Malware Research at Kaspersky Lab.

Kaspersky Lab products regularly demonstrate their effectiveness against malware in independent testing. This summer, the independent organisation AV-TEST confirmed that Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business counters all online threats, including those that have yet to be added to antivirus databases. In spring of this year, Virus Bulletin also awarded Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business the VB100 certificate after the solution was able to block all threats it encountered without generating any false positives.

More details about the test results for business security solutions for the third quarter of 2013 can be found on Dennis Technology Lab’s website.
