Teesside's Able take rig expertise to Amsterdam
Teesside-based Able UK, the global specialists in decommissioning and recycling of offshore oil and gas platforms will take centre stage at an international conference being held in Amsterdam later this week.
The firm’s Group development director Neil Etherington will be among the speakers at this year’s World Demolition Summit which aims to spotlight how some of the most challenging projects from around the world are carried out.
Says Neil Etherington “We are delighted to have been invited to contribute to this prestigious event and explain how we have developed our expertise in the marine decommissioning field over many years.
“We undertook the first decommissioning contract at our specialist facilities at Able Seaton Port in 1985 and since then we have handled 15 contracts for major companies, including Shell, BP, Phillips, Total/Fina Elf and ExxonMobile.
“In addition to decommissioning and recycling operations, Able Seaton has also now become the preferred choice for a number of rig operators wanting to undertake upgrade and maintenance work
“There is no doubt that there is a worldwide demand for the services we provide and the conference is an important opportunity to underline our experience and our ability to carry out work to the highest environmental standards.”
