Nick Bish and Bob Cotton OBE appointed as non-executive directors at Pelican

Hospitality industry veterans join the procurement specialist to provide strategic guidance and direction

Pelican, the procurement and supply chain management specialist, has announced the appointment Nick Bish and Bob Cotton OBE as non-executive directors to its board. Both Nick and Bob are highly-regarded, well-known hospitality industry professionals having spent many years in senior positions across the sector. They have accepted non-executive director positions with the industry procurement specialist with immediate effect.

With over 30 years in the licensed trade, Nick Bish is the former chief executive of the Association of Licensed Multiple Retailers (AMLR), having originally founded the association in 1991 to act as the principal representative body for pubs, bars, clubs and casual dining establishments. Prior to this, Nick worked in several senior positions with HH Finch, Imperial Inns & Taverns and Courage.

Bob Cotton OBE is more recently known for his position as chief executive of the British Hospitality Association (BHA), in addition to providing guidance to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport for one year as tourism adviser. In 2002, Bob was presented with a Special Catey Award for services to the hospitality industry, in addition to the Arena Accolade for his work in successfully promoting the hospitality industry.
