Wynyard accountants grow team

Fast-growing accountancy practice Evolution LLP has added eight new members of staff to its team in the last months to cater for its rapidly expanding client base.

The Tees Valley-based business and tax advisory practice has continued to grow its workforce as it enjoys surging demand for its services in several specialist areas, including in the education sector where it works with a number of academies.

Having bolstered its team, the business is now looking to extend its geographical reach, potentially by acquiring existing practices.

Danielle Keighley, Matthew Crofts and Melissa Wood have joined the group as trainees, while Matt Waters, Lisa Cowley, Lucy Brown and Andrew Reilly have been appointed as senior members of Evolution’s audit and accounts team. Nicola Cook, meanwhile, has been brought into the group as credit controller.

Matt Waters, who has previously worked at Lawson & Co, Chipchase Manners and Baines Jewitt, said: “With a growing reputation and so much recent success in increasingly difficult times, Evolution would be anyone’s first choice to work for. I’m extremely excited to be joining the practice, which seems to have a very bright future indeed.”

Lucy Brown, who most recently worked for Waltons Clark Whitehill has 12 years’ experience in practice, taking in roles at Ernst and Young and Clive Owen. She said: “The business is growing rapidly which gives me the chance to work with a great variety of clients and develop my skills in a number of areas.”

Nicola Cook, who joined Evolution from a security company based in Hartlepool and has 18 years’ experience of working in accounts, said: “Evolution is an exciting company to work for – it is professional with its clients and looks after its staff - I’m delighted to have joined the team.”

Martin Barber, managing partner of Evolution, said: “Our latest recruitment drive is a response to our increasing client base and it will ensure we have the necessary resources to service our clients at the very high standard we set.

“Also, because we have a lot of new academy work coming on stream, we need to ensure we have enough experienced team members who can service this specialist client area.

“It’s been an exciting journey so far and we are always looking at new ways to improve on what we do and how we do it. We will be looking to extend our geographical reach by acquiring a practice or practices further afield.”

Evolution LLP acts for a wide range of clients, from sole traders to multinationals, and provides a broad spectrum of services including personal tax returns and tax planning for high net-worth individuals.
