This week's North East appointments

Managing director of the Accenture Delivery Centre in the North East, Bob Paton, has been announced as the new non-executive chairman of business growth and innovation services company RTC North.

Bob’s remit as non-executive chairman of RTC North is to help drive company strategy and use his expertise to support the operational team, which offers support through a mix of business support projects and tailored commercial services.

He said: “RTC North is a real gem in the local business support and innovation arena. The work that is delivered to help SMEs protect new ideas, take them to market and grow their business locally and overseas is first class. I am really looking forward to helping the company move forward and expand its offering across the North of England.”

Morpeth-based garage equipment supplier Gott Technical Services has expanded its service team with the addition of a service repair administrator, Lucy Middlemist.

25-year-old Lucy joined the team from her previous role at a drain specialist company which she held for six years.

Gott Technical Services director Ian Gott said: “It’s been fantastic to welcome Lucy to our team in what has been a busy year for us in recruitment. She has worked really hard to become familiar with the technical aspects of the role and to familiarise herself with the industry as a whole.

“We’re now looking forward to a busy few months throughout winter and beginning 2014 with a strong client-serving unit which will allow us in continuing to provide the best customer service we can.”

North Shields Fish Quay-based Blake Hopkinson Architecture has announced Mark Wardingham as senior architect.

Mark said: “I have known Darren Blake and James Hopkinson, the founding partners of Blake Hopkinson Architecture, for many years after previously working together on the design of the Sage headquarters at Newcastle Great Park.

“Having kept track of what Blake Hopkinson have achieved over the past few years and the type of schemes they are attracting, I was keen to join the company and grow the business further.”

Blake Hopkinson have been involved in the £9 million landmark high rise scheme at Kennedy Gardens, Billingham and the recently completed £3.5 million refurbishment of Castle Court in Anfield Plain.
