Forget Paris, New York and Milan. This season’s latest trend isn’t bold checks, oversized accessories or decadent feathers. No – this season’s must have is a Onesie, and only in Morpeth will you be able to see a limited edition design that will only be made for two people in the world.
Well, only one person really and the Whitehouse Farm Skinny Pig, Rio.
Whitehouse Farm and The All-in-One-Company joined forces this Autumn season to throw down the gauntlet to any budding fashion designers who felt they were up to the challenge of designing a Onesie for the otherwise shivering Skinny Pig, Rio. The entries they received were of outstanding quality, ranging from pirates to punks and featuring bold stripes and vivid shapes – enough to make Jimmy Choo shake in his boots.
The winner was announced as Jack Simm, and he has won a money can’t buy prize. His winning design - featuring all of the farm yard animals he could squeeze in - has been made by The All-in-One-Company in two sizes – one for Rio himself and the other for Rachel, Rio’s trusted keeper at Whitehouse Farm. Jack will also be given the opportunity to go to The All-in-One-Companies website and design a Onesie for himself, just in time for Winter!
Rachel Jane Lister, Marketing Manager at The All-in-One-Company said ‘We are thrilled with the quality and imagination of all of the designs however Jack’s design stood out for his innovation and creativity! We absolutely can’t wait to see what Jack creates when designing his very own Onesie with his winning gift voucher - no Onesie design is ever the same.’
Karen Lovatt of Whitehouse Farm said ‘Congratulations to Jack & runners up Imogen & James. We were overwhelmed with the number of entries, the diversity of the designs and were delighted that Felton & Stobhillgate schools had also taken on the challenge.’
Following on from the competition, Whitehouse Farm have declared 16th & 17th November as Onesie Weekend! Anyone visiting the Farm in a Onesie will be given ½ price entry. Visitors will be able to meet Rio with his unique Onesie & staff will also be modelling their favourite Onesies.
To get involved in Onesie weekend at the Farm, visit www.whitehousefarmcentre.co.uk and come along to strut your stuff on the (Meer)Katwalk!!
And if you haven’t yet got a Onesie you can visit www.the-all-in-one-company.co.uk to have one made in time!
