Double gong for Teesside chartered surveyors

Teesside chartered surveyors have been awarded two prestigious industry awards.

Sanderson Weatherall have been named the North East’s Most Active Property Agency by the Estates Gazette Magazine, while the firm’s Associate Partner, Tim Carter, received the Most Active Deal Maker award for the region.

During the last 12 months, Tim successfully managed to close 57 transactions, more than any other agent in the region, according to the magazine.

“It’s been a busy year and a lot of hard work has been put in, but it’s fantastic to be recognised,” said Tim.

“The next step is to see if I can build on the number of deals over the next year. I think that both awards show the hard work and commitment we put in at Sanderson Weatherall.”

In the industrial sector, the firm has done deals to sell or let 1.2m sq ft of space spanning 65 deals, as well as 58,000 sq ft of office space across 21 deals.

Partner Jonathan Simpson, in charge of industrial and development, added: “The industrial sector remains the strongest of the regional markets with take up over the last 12 months higher than any year, following the recession in 2007.

“As an office we hope to build on this platform, with activity already looking very health for the next quarter ahead.”

Andrew Wilkinson, head of retail and investment, remains optimistic about the retail sector and said it is showing good signs and positivity, in both town centres and out of town locations, with projects and activities in Middlesbrough’s Dundas Arcade Shopping Precinct and Abraham Business Park in Bishop Auckland.

“There is a lot of positivity coming from all sectors,” added Tim.

“At the moment and things are promising for the road ahead and we are looking forward to building upon our success.”
